Rachel + Christian | Flemings Christmas Tree Farm Engagement Session | Indiana PA Photographer

Rachel and Christian have had this engagement session scheduled for what feels like forever! They lead a crazy life leading up to their wedding in the fall of 2018. Rachel lives in Cleveland, while Christian is closer to Indiana. Between work and school they were able to schedule their session with me this past weekend!

The weather was absolutely perfect for their Tree Farm Engagement shoot at Flemings Christmas Tree Farm in Indiana, Pa. Between all of the rain we have been having this fall season, we were pretty nervous about having to reschedule their session. Thankfully, the rain held out, and we had an evenly lit overcast day with a mild 50 degrees! Perfect for a snuggle between the Christmas trees…

Rachel and Christian go way back. They went to high school together, and after several years of Christian pursuing her, she finally said yes to a date! They had a few fun dates before they were official. Christian likes to say their first date was at a Chinese buffet called Jade Garden. He was incredibly frustrated with Rachel because she came back from the buffet with one small plate, and said she wasn’t hungry! He is still upset about it, and even brought it up at our session. I was cracking up! The best part of that date was the ending, when Rachel opened her fortune it said “Everyone has someone to love.” Rachel has kept that fortune in her wallet since that very day. Check it out at the end of this post! How stinking cute is that? I don’t think I had ever been so excited to do a ring shot. Seriously.

As their relationship progressed through adorable dinner dates, stargazing, and hunting trips, it was finally time to take the next step. They went to Deepcreek MD with a couple of friends one weekend of ice and snow. After some trail hiking and near accidents of falling on the treacherous trails, they stopped by some waterfalls that they had visited the year before. While Rachel was taking a video on her phone, he tapped her on the shoulder and got down on one knee and popped the question. She was in complete disbelief and kept asking if he was serious several times. When she looked down at her ring, she thought she was missing some of the stones already. Turns out, he had dropped it in some mud before she turned around!

Rachel and Christian, I loved getting to know you two this past weekend. You guys have an amazing love story, and I am so glad to be a part of it, from your engagement session to your wedding next year! Xoxo
