I absolutely LOVED shooting this sweet couples engagement session this past Friday! They are in a whirlwind of planning, and will be married next spring. Stay tuned for all of their amazing details next year!
It may have been 90 degrees, as we are in a record breaking stretch of really hot days in a row, but these two didn’t bat an eye at the heat. They are so in love, and it reminds me how much I love engagement sessions. That look in their eyes of being able to spend the rest of their lives together, and what lies ahead just makes my heart flutter! THIS is why I love my job.
Marissa and Grant first met in 4th grade, became best friends, and had their first date at a school football game in 8th grade! They became more serious in their Junior Year of high school, and started spending more time with each other, and their families. Grant decided to propose this past spring in his parents house. He strung lights, and decorated with photos of themselves. When Marissa went to come down the stairs, he was on one knee with their parents surrounding them with love! She was so happy, she barely even got out a “yes”!
These two have a love for adventure, and dogs. My kind of people! They brought their German Shepherd puppy who is already 120 lb. She was so good, and loved hiking through a field with us for the second half of their session. Along the way, I learned so much about them as a couple. Grant is in the Navy, and Marissa is in the Air Force. Talk about relationship goals! They love anything that gets the adrenaline pumping including rollercoasters, skydiving, and…. Rattlesnakes. While I mentioned I was a tad nervous about finding a snake in the middle of the field, I learned Grant likes to hunt Rattlesnakes and let them go. Turns out, Rattlesnakes like rocks more than a field.
We ended our session under a canopy of trees along a gorgeous driveway with the most amazing sunset. Wait until you see this light!
Marissa and Grant, I had a blast with you and Kya, and I CANT wait to shoot your wedding! Enjoy this season in your life, It goes by so quickly!
