I have been preparing for my last wedding of the year, ALL year. It’s a little bittersweet, to be able to relax after a crazy wedding season, while saying goodbye to 2018. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a sweeter couple to cap my year off.
I first met these two at their engagement session this fall. Check out a few of my favorites from that day HERE. They brought their dog with, and we had a fantastic time getting to know each other! I can’t say enough great things about Steve and Naomi. They are two of the kindest, sweetest souls I have met along the way.
We started the day at Naomi’s friends house, it was beautifully decorated with Christmas lights and the perfect amount of snow. She was so gracious to lend us her home while Naomi prepared for the day ahead! We had plenty of laughs, and Naomi wrote her vows before getting dressed. All of the girls helped her button her dress, and finish all of the last touches. Naomi and her dad shared a first look while her sister held back some tears. After a sweet hug and kiss from mom and dad, we headed out to the trolley to take them to the ceremony.
I just love the photo of Naomi and her dad waiting to come down the aisle. Steve’s look on his face first seeing his bride is one of my favorites as well. The church was absolutely gorgeous, and the wood beams in the ceiling were so impressive. They had a beautiful ceremony, exchanged vows, and then shared their first kiss as husband and wife.
After we took family photos in the church, we headed to the covered bridge, and then Greenhouse Park. Steve, Naomi, and the entire bridal party was so amazing. Let me tell you, it was absolutely freezing, and I don’t think anyone complained once. After our fingers quit working on the shutter button, we stopped at the Crows Nest for a drink before heading to the reception. They let us go behind the bar to grab a few cool shots!
Once we got to the reception, Steve and Naomi had their first dance, and also the parent dances. The father daughter dance ALWAYS gets me. Every single time. Naomi and her dad had a slow dance first, then they had the cutest dance to “Brown Eyed Girl”. I honestly couldn’t hold back tears. I could picture Naomi as a little girl dancing with her dad, and I instantly think of my daughter with her daddy. It just makes you realize how fast time goes, but she will always be his little girl. SO sweet.
I know this day was a little bittersweet for Steve and Naomi too. At the beginning of the new year, they are moving across the country to California to start their new life together. So, this day was so important to them to be able to spend time with friends and family before leaving.
Steve and Naomi, I am so honored to have been part of your wedding day. I really loved working with both of you, and you two deserve a lifetime of happiness while traveling and making new memories together. I just LOVE your sense of spirit and adventure. Keep in touch, and best of luck with your new life together!
