I first met Cody and Angela at their engagement session at the St. Francis Gardens in Loretto PA. These two are so sweet and kind, and we all worked together effortlessly! Check out their engagement session HERE!
Cody and Angela’s proposal stories is one of my favorites. On June 26th 2018, Cody said he wanted to go on a hike to A Thousand Steps, a hiking trail in Huntingdon, PA. Cody suggested a morning hike with a picnic lunch on top of the mountain. The weather was perfect. However, Angela thought it was going to be paved stairs with handrails, not over 1200 steep rocks to climb. She wanted to turn around countless times along the way. She at one point exclaimed that she hoped that there was a diamond at the top for all of her efforts, having no idea she was correct! Cody thought for sure she knew, but alas, she never suspected what was to come. Luckily, they finally made it to the top. Angela was admiring the view. When she turned around, Cody was down on one knee and asked her to marry him. After twenty minutes of tears…she said yes!
We had THE most perfect day on Saturday. It was sunny all day, with a light breeze to cool us all. We started the day at Angela’s parents house where we photographed all of the gorgeous details and her gown. The entryway was just stunning, and I knew that dress had to go there as soon as I walked in. Once it was time to photograph Angela getting ready, her mom and sister helped put on her jewelry, shoes and her grandmothers bracelet. After Angela was ready, we headed down the steps, where her bridesmaids got to see her for the first time. Then, we did a first look with her dad right outside. He had a hard time holding back the tears, as his daughter walked towards him.
We sent the girls off on the bus to head to the ceremony. Photographed all of the guys hanging out at the church, and prepared for the most important part of the day. After Cody and Angela shared their vows, and first kiss, we photographed all of the family inside the church. Sometimes Family Formal time can be quite chaotic, but this family rocked right through it!
We found a separate location for portraits of the bridal party, and the bride and groom. The North Park Boat house was a beautiful spot for portraits. We found a shady spot underneath a soft romantic willow tree, and captured some of my favorite photos from the entire day. The light was just perfect there.
After Portraits, it was time to head to the reception and get ready for the Grand Entrance! This reception was so much fun. The dinner was AMAZING. We had salad, Atlantic Salmon, NY Strip Steak, Chicken Chardonnay, Gemelli Pasta in a roasted tomato cream sauce, fingerling potatoes, and heirloom carrots. So delicious. After dinner service, the newlyweds shared their first dance and husband and wife, that they had rehearsed and choreographed. It was so sweet! We watched parent dances, the bouquet toss, and the traditional bridal dance. After all of the festivities, we said our goodbyes for the evening!
Cody and Angela, thank you so much for everything. I had an amazing time at your wedding, and I am so so thrilled to have been able to photograph this huge milestone in your lives. Congratulations to you both, and I wish you the best of luck and many years of happiness!
