I first met Emily at a previous wedding I was shooting, all because of some car trouble. When she first asked if I would shoot her wedding, I was thrilled! I love working with friends of previous brides. Joe and Emily are such sweet souls. They are both pretty quiet and down to earth, and our day flowed effortlessly because of that.
We started the day at the Marriott In Cranberry. There were adjoining rooms, which made for ample space for the girls to get ready in. After hair and makeup, Emily stepped into her dress, and put her jewelry on. She wore her mothers earrings! They looked stunning on her. The guys were in a separate room, where my second shooter Allisha photographed them. Once everyone was ready, we headed to the church and Emily and her father, John shared a first look outside. The nerves were starting to build a little, and Emily took a moment to read a note from her fiancé Joe. The tears were flowing at this point, and one of Emily’s bridesmaids came to comfort her.
The ceremony was a beautiful one. The church has so much light inside which makes for lovely photos. I have a bit of an obsession with stained glass, I think it is so intricate, and impressive! I can’t imagine the time that goes into make windows like these. Joe and Emily exchanged their own vows, shared their first kiss, and walked down the aisle as husband and wife.
We took family photos in the church, and then went on our way to the club. Everyone had their own golf cart, which was loads of fun! We took bridal party photos, and then photos of the bride and groom. We found a nice little cove of trees and vines which made for a beautiful backdrop for Joe and Emily’s portraits!
The ballroom here at Treesdale Country Club is AMAZING! The light that pours in and illuminates the table settings was so gorgeous. The staff was also incredible to work with. We had a private spot to eat dinner, while I prepared a sneak peek for the bride and groom. To top it off, the meal was delicious! The entire decor of the reception was stunning! This is one of my other favorite parts of the day… When all of those little details you have been planning for 1+ years ALL comes together.
After Joe and Emily made their grand entrance, Emily’s father, Sister, and Joes Father gave their toasts to the bride and groom. I have to say, this wedding had some emotional ups and downs, and through toasts, and dances I had a hard time holding back the tears. Joes Mom passed away 2 years ago, and so he shared his Mother son dance with his Aunt, and his new Mother in Law, Joy. These were such beautiful moments, and I will remember this day forever. His mom absolutely adored Emily, and I am sure she would have been so overjoyed to see this day.
We ended the evening with a few sunset portraits on the pathway down to the course. We caught just a smidge of some color! The evening was perfect, and it sort of feels like fall is setting in. I love nights like these!
Joe and Emily, Thank you so much for choosing me for this special day of yours. I absolutely love all of your friends and family, and I truly had a wonderful time. Thank you for the memories, and I hope you cherish these photos for the rest of your lives. Cheers to many years of happiness!
