I loved this wedding at The Farm on the Ridge this past weekend! Michael and Gina are one of the nicest couples I’ve met in my time shooting weddings. They are both extremely laid back, and down to earth. We shot their engagement session a few months back, and you can check that out HERE!
We started the day at the farmhouse on the Farm on the Ridge. Gina hung out with her girls, and got ready in some of the most beautiful light I’ve seen in awhile! After she did a first look with her father, everyone had tears. The radio station even played the most perfect not planned out song for them! After a few bridal portraits of Gina, I headed over to to the guys to grab a few photos of them hanging out.
I walked down the pathway to the ceremony site, and just loved the way the wind was blowing all the yellow and orange leaves around. It is such a beautiful spot to get married! After they said their vows and shared their first kiss as husband and wife, they made their way back up the aisle.
We took lots of family photos, and a few photos of the bridal party. We ended with photos of the bride and groom before we made our way to the reception. They had a really cool Model T car we had to use of course! The leaves and a field were a perfect backdrop for their portraits.
The barn where the reception was held is pretty neat inside. The insulation makes for a really intricate looking ceiling, and was fantastic for bouncing light around! They entered, had their first dance, and cut their delicious looking gob cake. After a few toasts and the blessing, we had a fantastic dinner catered by Anthony’s. We had breaded pork and chicken cutlets, mashed potatoes, corn, pasta and rolls. It was a delicious comforting meal, that even one of the guests commented “The mashed potatoes were just like grandma used to make!”. After a chilly, windy October day, this really was what we all needed! Michael and Gina made their way around to all of their tables and greeted all of their friends and family. After that, Gina’s dad gave a lovely toast to the bride and groom before they shared parent dances. One of my favorite parts of the night is ending with the bridal dance. There’s so much love for the couple, and it’s also pretty entertaining watching the groom try to get to his bride in the center. We snuck out for a few last photos of the evening during sunset, and said our goodbyes.
We truly had a perfect day, the weather was the exact feeling of what October is all about. With my upcoming 9 year wedding anniversary, I can’t help but be a little biased for Fall weddings! Michael and Gina, thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your wedding day. It’s been an honor getting to know you both through this entire process. I wish you guys many many years of happiness!
XO Jaclyn
