This past Saturday was a wedding I’ve been waiting for quite a while for! I just loved Drew and Olivia from the minute I met them. Their proposal story is one for the books, and I love that we incorporated that into their engagement session.
“Drew proposed on New Year’s Eve at the top of Vinegar Hill in Indiana. He had told me that we were going to meet his family for dinner at a restaurant downtown. From where his apartment was at the time we could walk to Vinegar Hill to go downtown. At the top of the steps he told me that he wanted to take a picture together. As I was getting my phone ready he stopped me and got down on one knee. His family was waiting to celebrate with us at the bottom of the hill. He also had made plans for a big family dinner at my parent’s house. Drew put so much thought into proposing and it will truly be something I never forget!“
You can check out some of my favorite photos from their engagement session here!
We started the day at Grace Church where Drew is also a youth pastor. The girls got ready in the church basement, and the guys got ready at the youth center across the street.
Drew and Olivia shared a first look, and then we took some time to take photos of the two of them. After a quick break inside to warm up, we finished with bridal party pictures! A lot of their bridal party and guests at the wedding traveled from the south, so they weren’t loving the cold weather!
Their ceremony was so beautiful. The pews were decorated with green wreaths, and ribbon, and the sun peeked through the stained glass of the tall windows in the sanctuary. After they shared their vows and first kiss, they walked through tons of bubbles and guests outside the church. I loved that Drews Grandfather was the one to marry them. It made their ceremony that much more special!
We made our way through the winding roads to The Chetremon. The table settings were gorgeous! I just love the colors They chose to decorate with. Blush and merlot are such a beautiful combo for a fall wedding! After dances, cake cutting, and toasts, we had a fantastic dinner served by Just Ask Catering. Our meal was SO good!
I always like to sneak my couples out at some point during the evening for one last portrait. For this wedding I found some interesting lights on the wall outside, and a glass garage door to reflect Drew and Olivia in. It’s one of my favorite night time portraits, I just love it! After an eventful bridal dance, we said our goodbyes and headed home.
Drew and Olivia, thank you for choosing me to document your special day. I loved spending the day with you both, and I’ve enjoyed our time together and getting to know you guys! I wish you both all the happiness in the world!
XO, Jaclyn
