Have you ever done a boudoir shoot before? If so, how does your shoot with Jaclyn compare to your prior experience?First time! Starting to consider saving for the next!
Why did you do your boudoir shoot?I had been debating doing a shoot for some time. I have had friends rave about it and loved the style of Jackie’s photos but didn’t have a “reason” to do it. (ie. Wedding or significant other) One night, half asleep a scene from one of my favorite shows, Schitt’s Creek, came on. An older character Moira gives advice to a younger character Stevie… “Take a thousand naked photos of yourself…. One day you will look at those photos with much kinder eyes” https://youtu.be/hSISh_jk6V8 That was it. Half awake I grabbed my phone and purchased the session. I didn’t need a reason. I was doing this for me. I went through a wave of emotions of… Excitement and what did I just do but I am so glad I did.
What was your favorite part of the session? There was one point where I walked by the giant mirror in the studio. I stopped because I didn’t recognize myself. It wasn’t that I looked different, but the way I was walking and holding myself was. I was confident and beautiful and hot. Even typing it out now can feel odd. But that moment, which is a crystal clear moment in my mind that I will never forget, I felt like a bad ass bitch.
What did doing this shoot do for your self confidence, self worth, and self image? Tell me your story.Oh, read story above. Ha. It will boost all of these. You walk out of there feeling like a model. But then you get to experience it again. The day I reviewed my images. I just sat there and thought… Dang. That’s me.
Was your experience what you were expecting? If not, how was it different?I didn’t know what to expect but I would not change one thing about it. Except maybe stretch more before, like a lot more.
What was the best part of your experience? Would you change anything?I wanted to take advantage of the whole experience, from the day I booked, to the shoot and the day I saw my images. I haven’t had a day where I felt the need to pamper myself , so I did for this. It was a 1.5 months of self care. I worked out, ate healthy (+ ice cream), hydrated properly, took care of my skin and hair and took time to care for me. Was I perfect in doing these things, no but it gave me the motivation to care for myself. As a person who finds joy in helping others, I made myself a priority and learned to find joy in that too.
Would you recommend us to a friend? Absolutely, I have been telling everyone to do it! Do it. Stop worrying and do it. It not about the poses, the outfits or even the photos (sorry Jackie, you should ABSOLUTELY get the photos and you WILL want ALL them). It’s about doing something for yourself that make you feel good about yourself, maybe even see yourself in a way you never have before. It also doesn’t matter what size, shape or color you are. Jackie knows what she is doing. She will pose you in ways to make you feel and look beautiful. She sends you all the tips and tricks to prepare you. And you can not forget about Molly who makes you look stunning first thing in the morning while you’re still sipping your morning coffee. My makeup was perfect.
