Have you ever done a boudoir shoot before? If so, how does your shoot with Jaclyn compare to your prior experience?No, I have never done a boudoir shoot before. It was something that I always wanted to do, but could never pull the trigger. I started to look for one as a gift to my husband and I found Jaclyn. I am so glad I did!
Why did you do your boudoir shoot?It started out as a gift for my husband, but in the end was a gift to myself. He gets the sexy pictures and I got to feel sexy, strong, confident and powerful during and after my shoot. I am so glad I have my photos to remind me of how amazing I really am, inside and out!
What was your favorite part of the session?It is super hard to pin down one thing I liked the best, so here are a few favorites. FIRST, I had no idea what to wear, expect or even do prior to my shoot. Jaclyn sent a lot of information to help me get ready and keep my nerves down. And what was nice about it, it wasn’t information overload. About once a week, she sends these emails to help you understand the process, suggestions to feel your best and everything in-between. My favorite tip was to purchase different outfits and select what you feel best in. I literately purchased between 20-25 different options and found my few favorites. This really helped me feel comfortable during the shoot. Another favorite was someone else does your hair and make-up. If you are like me and don’t wear make-up often, it can be intimidating! I loved how everything was taking care of and it is exactly what I wanted it for my photos. And I lied, I do have a favorite, Jaclyn! She is honestly the best! She matched up my outfits with her studio and walked me through each picture session. Asked me what I liked and wanted, where a lot of photographers just do what they want. Also, she made me feel so comfortable the whole time we did our photos (which is important when you are standing around half naked!) She is so much fun and made me feel like a friend and not just another client. She will now be my forever photographer and I am looking forward to my 40th Birthday Shoot (husband already knows that is the gift I want!)
What did doing this shoot do for your self confidence, self worth, and self image? Tell me your story.It is hard to put into words how this shoot made me feel. I have always been confident in my abilities when it comes to work or running or life in general, but I have never felt confident in my looks. I was always told that I was “cute” but not sexy and no mid 30’s woman wants to hear that she is “cute”. I loved how doing this shoot made me feel powerful, confident and sexy (and I have the pictures to prove I AM SEXY!) I think as women we have a tendency to focus on our flaw, instead of the things that make us feel like bad ass women. The whole shoot, from start to finish, I did not think about my boobs being small, or my scars/ stretchmarks or my stomach. It was so freeing to feel beautiful in the moment without worrying about the flaw I put on myself. This was the perfect wake-up call to myself that I am a bad ass and I can do anything!
Was your experience what you were expecting? If not, how was it different?This was nothing like I was expecting, it was so much more. The confidence I gained, the now friend I have in Jaclyn, and my amazing pictures are things that I gained that I was not expecting. It has changed my outlook on myself, on what boudoir is and how life changing an experience like this can be. Trust me, after you do your shoot, you will want to do it again the following week.
What was the best part of your experience? Would you change anything?There is nothing about my experience I would change. Everything was amazing from start to finish!
